Trace ICE and USMS Releases

To find someone released from ICE detention or moved through U.S. Marshals custody after a Choctaw County connection, identify the agency that last held the person. A county jail departure can be a transfer into immigration or federal custody rather than a return to the community. No current ICE detention facility was identified in Choctaw County, Oklahoma. ICE's locator, its detention information channel, a federal docket, and the local transfer record each answer a different part of the release question.

Choctaw ICE Release Outcomes

An ICE detainer can change the meaning of a Choctaw County Jail release. The criminal jail may record a release to another agency even though the person remains confined. Ask the jail for the receiving authority and the date and time of the move. Then confirm that custody with ICE or another named federal agency. Do not turn "released by the county" into "free from all custody."

Several outcomes are possible. ICE may take custody after the local case changes. The U.S. Marshals Service may transport a federal pretrial detainee. A person may instead be released from ICE custody under conditions, transferred, removed, or move outside the locator's public window. Those terms are not interchangeable, and release from ICE does not resolve every criminal, immigration, or supervision question.

Search Recent ICE Releases

ICE states that its Online Detainee Locator System includes people currently detained and people released from ICE custody within the last 60 days. That makes it a real, limited recent-release route. It is not an all-time immigration history. After the window passes, use the relevant Enforcement and Removal Operations office, ICE records procedures subject to privacy rules, the person's immigration documents, and any court trail.

The A-number search requires a nine-digit number and country of birth. Add a leading zero when the known A-number has eight digits. The biographical search uses name, country of birth, and birth date. The public locator excludes people younger than 18. Recent movements, spelling, transliteration, and incomplete data can also affect results.

  1. Use the nine-digit A-number and country of birth when the number is known.
  2. Otherwise use the person's exact biographical information as held by ICE, testing documented name forms.
  3. Read the custody or release wording exactly and note the time of the search.
  4. When no result appears, contact ICE's detention information channel and the proper ERO office rather than declaring release.
  5. Compare ICE information with the county transfer entry, federal or immigration case, and any other active custodian.
Sixty-day limit: An older ICE release can fall outside the locator even though an official record still exists.

ICE Release Contact Route

ICE provides a detention information line at 1-888-351-4024 and routes custody questions through Enforcement and Removal Operations. Have the A-number, full recorded name, country of birth, birth date, and last known facility or transfer date ready. Privacy and security rules can limit what the agency tells a third party. Ask narrow questions about current detention or the correct records office.

The official detention-management source appears below. Review ICE detention information for current contact directions before calling.

A call result should be documented with the date, agency unit, and exact custody wording. If ICE cannot locate the person, return to the county record and confirm that ICE was truly the receiving agency. Similar abbreviations or an initial plan that later changed can lead to the wrong federal search.

Choctaw Detainers and Transfers

A detainer is a request or notice from another authority that can affect what happens when local custody would otherwise end. It does not by itself prove that ICE accepted custody or that immigration detention began at a particular time. The county release entry should identify the releasing authority, any holds and their disposition, and the receiving destination if public.

Ask the Choctaw County Sheriff's Records Division for the jail-register or booking-and-release entry tied to the exact booking. Useful fields include booking number, arresting or committing agency, court case, release time, release reason, releasing authority, detainers, and transfer destination. The official county records page has no active downloadable form and no complete fee schedule. Call 580-326-2000 before visiting or sending a request.

No evidence was found that Choctaw County Jail is a current ICE detention facility. That does not prove it can never hold a person briefly for a federal authority. Classify the event from the booking and movement record rather than the building name. A county jail transfer to ICE is not the same thing as the county becoming an ICE center.

For broader local confirmation, the Choctaw County released inmates route explains the sheriff record, court docket, and receiving-agency sequence.

ICE detainer
A federal immigration custody request or notice that can affect the next movement.
ERO
ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations, the component handling detention and related field operations.
A-number
An immigration identification number used in the ICE locator and agency records.
Removal
A distinct immigration process or outcome, not a synonym for release into the community.

USMS Custody After Choctaw

The U.S. Marshals Service is responsible for many federal pretrial detainees and prisoner transport. It does not have a public historical person-level release list comparable to BOP's locator. A detainee may be held by a contracted jail or provider while remaining under federal authority. Public details about placement and movement can be limited.

When the Choctaw jail record identifies USMS, obtain the federal case number. Search PACER for detention orders, release conditions, writs, judgment, and later docket entries. Contact the appropriate U.S. Marshals district or public information route for what can lawfully be confirmed. A federal release order states legal authority, while the holding provider may document the actual departure.

BOP is relevant only if the person enters its sentenced-prison system. A BOP result marked "Released" describes the end of BOP custody. "Not in BOP custody" does not settle USMS or ICE status. The federal inmate release page gives the distinct BOP search and FOIA route.

Note: A federal writ or transport can move a person while another sentence or detention basis stays in force.

ICE Release Record Requests

After the locator's recent-release window, request or obtain the record from the agency that created it. ICE records may be subject to FOIA, the Privacy Act, identity verification, consent, and exemptions. State the A-number, full name, date of birth, country of birth, approximate detention and release dates, last known facility, and the specific event or document sought. A focused request is easier to route than a demand for every file.

Ask for existing custody, transfer, or release documentation and the meaning of the agency's event code. Do not ask ICE to create a conclusion about immigration status. If records are withheld or redacted, review the cited basis and available appeal route. A court docket can supply orders but may not carry the actual time a detention facility processed a move.

USMS information requests follow the relevant federal agency's rules. BOP FOIA applies to BOP records, not all federal detainees. The Choctaw County Sheriff handles its local booking and departure record, not ICE's later detention file. Keeping each request with the record custodian prevents circular referrals.

For a person released from ICE custody within the public window, preserve the locator's exact wording and search date. After about 60 days, a missing public result is expected and cannot erase the earlier event. The enduring proof comes from agency records, immigration paperwork, and applicable court files.

Federal Release Scope Checks

Run a final custody-scope check before drawing a conclusion. Confirm which authority last held the person, whether the event was a release or transfer, whether another hold remained, and whether the public system covers the date in question. A county, ICE, USMS, BOP, ODOC, tribal, and court record may each describe a different stage.

Do not infer immigration status, removal, or freedom from all custody from a single no-match. Likewise, a recent ICE release result does not establish that a separate state warrant or supervision term ended. Use exact identifiers and case numbers, and ask the originating office to resolve contradictions.

No research source supplied a Choctaw County ICE release schedule, pickup gate, waiting area, property procedure, or travel service. Call the actual detention provider after ICE confirms it, and follow lawful instructions from that custodian. Do not travel to Choctaw County Jail on the assumption that an ICE release will occur there.

Automated victim-notification systems can help with state or local custody events, but ordinary Oklahoma VINE coverage must not be assumed for federal immigration detention. Use the federal locator and contact route for this custody type.
